Company was founded in 1979 and was acquired by estate owner Heinz Eifel in 1988. His family has been involved in viniculture over many generations. This family tradition is now being continued by his daughter Anne Eifel-Spohr who has been active in the company since 2001.
The driver for the 1988 take-over was our ambition to serve a broader customer base and to offer our product range Germany wide. Beside top-quality Riesling wines from the estate´s world famous vineyard sites on the Mosel, it was now possible to add a selection of wines from other German and European wine growing regions.
At the time of it´s foundation the company´s export markets were restricted to Germany and the US. Other European countries and South America followed. Over the last years, the company successfully managed to enter the Eastern European, the Scandinavian and Asian markets.
